The San Francisco Gay Flag Football League (SFGFFL) started informally in 1998 and became an official league in 2010.
The league is open to all skill levels, from those who have played for years to those who have never been on a football field. Additionally, the SFGFFL is a fellowship for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.
The San Francisco Gay Flag Football League (SFGFFL) is an organization that fosters a community for the LGBTQIA+ individuals in the San Francisco Bay Area through the positive social and athletic enjoyment of flag football. Through flag football, we empower our players and our surrounding communities to reach their goals as athletes, teammates, friends, and leaders, regardless of level, skill, knowledge, or ability. We actively create a safe space for members of the San Francisco Bay Area LGBTQIA+ community to feel included in flag football.
The San Francisco Gay Flag Football Leagues (SFGFFL) are committed to fostering an environment of diversity. No individual shall be excluded from participating in any of the Leagues' activities on the basis of sexual orientation, age, creed, gender, race, religion, socio-economic status, nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, athletic ability, physical challenge, disability, HIV status, marital status, military status, or gender identity.
